Omnitrope® is a recombinant human growth hormone (somatropin), bioengineered to be structurally identical to endogenous growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland. This 15 mg (45 IU) / 1.5 mL formulation provides a high-concentration (10 mg/mL) ready-to-use solution for subcutaneous injection via compatible pen devices such as the Omnitrope Pen 10.
Indications
Omnitrope is indicated for both pediatric and adult patients with growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and related conditions, including:

Growth failure due to GHD

Growth failure in children born small for gestational age (SGA) who have not caught up by age 2–4

GHD that is either adult-onset (often due to hypothalamic or pituitary disease, surgery, or trauma) or childhood-onset GHD persisting into adulthood, confirmed by appropriate testing

Dosage and Administration

Individualized based on patient weight, clinical indication, and therapeutic response.

Administer by subcutaneous injection daily; rotate injection sites to minimize the risk of lipodystrophy.

Dose titration should be guided by serum IGF-1 levels, growth velocity (in children), and clinical response.
Storage and Stability

Store unused cartridges in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze.

Once in use, the cartridge may be stored refrigerated or at room temperature (up to 25°C/77°F) for up to 28 days.

Protect from light. Discard after 28 days from first use, even if unused solution remains.
Contraindications and Precautions

Contraindicated in patients with active malignancy, acute critical illness, or hypersensitivity to somatropin or excipients.

Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus or intracranial hypertension.

Monitor glucose metabolism, IGF-1 levels, and thyroid function during therapy.

Not indicated for growth promotion in pediatric patients with closed epiphyses.
